Willow Leaf
Archaeological remains of willow trees have been found in settlements belonging to the Anatolian Neolithic Age. The Hittites, who created the first written texts of Anatolia, named the willow tree 'Şişyamma'. In 1897, Felix Hoffman produced the drug Aspirin from the salicin substance in the bark of the willow tree. This drug became famous as the most used drug in the world.
The Scythians, who lived in the 7th and 8th centuries BC, believed that willow branches placed on the ground showed the future. In Mevlana's Mesnevi, the secret of the willow tree is mentioned. The willow is mentioned in the hymns about Apollo, who is known as the god of prophecy in mythology. It has been the subject of mysterious stories by many cultures and peoples in the history of humanity.
From the willow leaf plant; willow leaf tea and extract are produced.
