Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is an evergreen plant species with needle-like thin leaves from the Lamiaceae family.
It is a shrub-like plant with purple flowers. The plant's young shoots, which grow widely around the Mediterranean, are used as spring and as an ornamental plant. A stimulating syrup is obtained by boiling the flowers, "rosemary spirit", cologne, and so on. A valuable essential oil is also extracted. Also, oil is obtained from its leaves.
