Currants are a type of dried small black grape. It is widely used especially in Turkish cuisine. In Turkish cuisine, it is often used with pine nuts in dishes such as stuffing, wrapping, stuffed pilaf, and in some desserts such as zerde and ashura. There is also the use of currants in Greek cuisine.
